God did GREAT things

this summer!

Dear FVCA Family,

THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR PRAYER AND SUPPORT to make this ministry possible!  We have a lot of good things happening this summer!

Individual Family Retreats – We provided individual families from our communities with the opportunity to spend two days and one night here on our facility.  We provided them with meals and activities including canoeing, biking, hiking, campfires, a Gospel presentation, and more!  All of those was provided at no-cost and we were thrilled to see families here participating in activities together.  In a follow up survey, one of our families shared, “please, please, please have family camp again next year – we’re in and can’t wait.”  We have served over 30 families through these retreats this summer.  Please pray for the many families who joined us this summer and that the new faith commitments that were made here would continue to be nurtured well into the future!

Teen Day Camps – Over the years we have invested in the lives of hundreds of teenagers participating in our Community Leadership Development Program.  This summer we were able to modify this program into a day camp format.  Teens came for four long days, 9am-7pm, Monday-Thursday. They participated in a variety of activities including Bible study, college & career exploration, canoeing, biking, and a variety of other activities.  We were blessed to serve 30 teenagers through this program this summer.  Please pray that God will continue to impact their hearts deeply through their experiences this summer.

FVCA Packs – This summer kids had the opportunity to go online and register for a free FVCA Summer Camp Pack, which included craft supplies, a Bible in English or Spanish, a camp t-shirt, flashlight, snacks, a beach ball, backpack, a new sleeping bag, and an online link to four days of instructed activities and a Gospel presentation.  God provided 250 volunteers and $50,000 in funding for the assembly and delivery of nearly 1,000 Packs!  Pray that God will move in the hearts and lives of the kids who received this tangible expression of His great love for them!

Financial Miracle – For 43 years God had has miraculously provided for the ministry of FVCA.  This week we saw His miraculous provision once again when we received a totally unexpected gift of $200,000 from the EFS Foundation in Elgin!  We have had a long relationship with the foundation and they have been a generous partner for 20 years.  This unrequested gift was a total surprise!  Praise God for his amazing provision!

Fall Ministry – As we move on from summer ministry we begin to shift our attention to the school-year.  Normally we would be gearing up for Teen Night Together and Crossroads Kids Clubs in schools.  We are still expecting to serve in both of these ministries; however, we also recognize that due to many limitations related to Covid-19, we will need to seek other ways of connecting with kids and teens this school year.  We recently began meeting to pray and think through how God will best utilize the ministry of FVCA this school year.  We are so grateful for the plan God provided us this summer.  Please pray for our team to continue to hear God’s leading as we consider how to best serve our community this fall.
