Volunteer with us this season!

We have some exciting new things happening this fall which will provide new opportunities to be involved!

Please consider how you can participate with FVCA this fall / winter

Our TNT program provides an opportunity for teens to come together at FVCA for dinner, a bible lesson, games and time for career exploration.  We meet weekly on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays with High school and middle school students. We are looking for volunteers who want to engage with youth through leading a small group discussion, assisting with activities etc. one night per week from 4:30 – 6:00 pm.  We are also looking for volunteers who would be interested in mentoring / walking alongside a middle school student on a consistent basis.  For more information please contact Revella@FVChristianAction.org

We will be providing an opportunity for families from our communities to enjoy a campfire together on Friday nights in October.  We are seeking families from local churches to “host” Friday night campfires at our campus in St. Charles.  FVCA will register families from our communities and will assign two families (up to 12 people) to each of our campfire circles.  FVCA will provide everything needed to build the fire.  We are asking host families to provide everything needed to make S’mores for the host family and 12 guests, and to be present to “host ” the campfire from 6:00 – 8:30 pm.  If a host family wants to “upgrade” the experience, they are welcome to bring additional food, beverages, music, guitar, whatever they want to do to “host”. Please contact Oscar@FVChristianAction.org with questions.

This summer FVCA and our Church partners distributed FVCA PACKS (home summer camp kits) to over 900 children in 1st – 6th grade in low-income communities.  Many of the families have expressed a desire to receive weekly “encouragement calls” for their kids.  In response, we’re setting up “PACKS PALS.”  We are seeking volunteers from local churches  who will commit to call five specific kids each week and have a 5-7 minute phone conversation.  The goal for each call is simply to ask each child how they are doing and pray for them by name.  We want to make encouraging calls and pray with the kids consistently throughout this school year.  A simple training will be provided for each PACKS PAL before the calls begin. Contact Revella@FVChristianAction.org with questions.

We want to bless kids in our communities in a tangible way this Christmas.  We are seeking churches and volunteers to purchase and deliver Christmas Gifts to kids in Elgin, Carpentersville and Aurora.  FVCA will provide volunteers with a wish list and basic contact information for each registered child. Volunteers will be asked to purchase the gifts, wrap, and deliver to the child’s home by Dec 11th. Gifts are not expected to exceed $25 per child. Please contact Roger@FVChristianAction.org with any questions.
